Federal Government client required is seeking Senior System Analysts (AP6 level) – The Customer Relationship Systems Branch plays a significant role in the delivery of the agency’s agenda. Our focus is to organise and prioritise our people to meet the priorities of government while applying governance and discipline to our delivery approach. We partner with the broader technology sector and academia to identify, develop and position emerging technology capabilities, consolidation and streamlining of our technical environment, and to drive the development of a highly skilled and professional workforce ready to deliver on this evolving future.
The role will place you as a Senior System Analyst within the DVA ecosystem. Systems Analyst Professionals design, create, evaluate and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems. They may propose modifications to the existing systems and processes, or design new systems to meet user needs as expressed in requirements documentations or user stories. Senior Systems Analysts are responsible for translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. It includes designing, analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. They are responsible for writing functional specifications from the business requirements
Senior Systems Analysts:

The role will involve having or the ability to gain knowledge of the Department software development lifecycle, tools, services, deployment procedures and cyber security policies as well as industry best practices. You will work closely with Software Architects, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Developers and Testers with the shared purpose of building simple, helpful, respectful and transparent services for everyday Australians.
Key duties may include, but are not limited to:
- perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements
- create solution designs and implement solutions to meet business needs
- create and maintain solution documents
- support daily operations and monitor performance of business solutions
- adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement
- perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility, resource effort, risks and benefits
- conduct testing activities such as test planning, execution coverage reviews and defect management
- collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks, resolve issues, solve problems and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects Senior Systems Analyst
- undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design and testing documents
- review research, process models and documentation of other staff, providing guidance and feedback
- resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions
- perform cost analysis activities as required
- manage the life cycle of changes and improvements to systems
- set priorities, manage resources, and assist with the development of work plans
- exercise delegations in line with legislation and guidelines as required

Candidate Selection Criteria
The criteria that the Buyer will use to evaluate the Candidates in the Seller’s Quotation comprise the following:
Mandatory Criteria
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a System Analyst.
Weighted Criteria
• Demonstrated experience in analysing requirements, conducting a gap analysis and developing solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading system analysis of custom build ICT projects.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, both in writing documentation and when writing code.
• Demonstrated experience as a System Analyst on a high profile and complex ICT project.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to the system development and documentation of ICT solutions.
• Demonstrated experience creating and interpreting models and diagrams e.g. UML, Use Cases and BPMN.
• Demonstrated experience with system analysis techniques and the ability to apply them to the benefit of all project stakeholders.
• Experience within an Australian Federal Government setting.
• Demonstrated functional experience in SAP based CRM systems.
