SAP Functional Consultants - Brisbane

Description

Federal Gov’t client is seeking SAP Functional Consultants, responsible for translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. It includes designing, analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. They are responsible for writing functional specifications from the business requirements.

SAP Functional Consultants promote and deliver flexible, quality service and products to improve customer experience, work under the limited direction of senior staff to deliver results and undertake complex work. SAP Functional Consultants make ethical, evidence-based decisions using sound judgement, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations, and may manage a team.

Key duties may include, but are not limited to:

Functional Consultant – APS6

  • perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements;
  • create solution designs and implement solutions to meet business needs;
  • create and maintain solution documents;
  • support daily operations and monitor performance of business solutions;
  • adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement;
  • perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility, resource effort, risks and benefits;
  • conduct testing activities such as test planning, execution coverage reviews and defect management;
  • collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks, resolve issues, solve problems and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects;
  • undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design and testing documents;
  • review research, process models and documentation of other staff, providing guidance and feedback;
  • resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions

Functional Consultant – EL1

  • responsible for the design and configuration of SAP systems;
  • lead and support operations of the team, including monitoring business performance, setting priorities and managing resources and workflow;
  • lead and manage staff, including overseeing the management of performance, attendance and health and wellbeing;
  • develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase performance, engagement and retention;
  • oversee the development and implementation of the ICT solution;
  • highlight and identify gaps in existing functionality;
  • highlight and identify functional interdependencies;
  • undertake and contribute to business management, strategic planning and workforce planning;
  • assist with the management of finances, contracts, procurement, resources and expenditure within area of responsibility;
  • ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget;
  • prepare and review a range of written material including technical and corporate documentation
