Description
A Federal Government digital agency is seeking an experience Site Reliability Engineer to work in a mulidisciplinary team to update, build and maintain the agency's Cloud.gov.au platform.
Successful candidate will:
- build automation and features to assist users (gov't developers & delivery teams) create services for the Australian public.
- hands on technical however will also communicate with users and stakeholders.
- work in a team that uses Agile practices and will spike ideas to solve problesm using modern technologies & tools.
Requirements
Your main skills and experience
- Cloud technologies (eg AWS, Azure or OpenStack).
- In container and PaaS systems (Cloud Foundry, Docker or Kubernetes).
- Internet plumbing (TCP/IP, routing, HTTP, CDNs, TLS, DNS, Identity services, PKI).
- With CI/CD practices and tooling (git, GitHub, GitLab, concourse-ci, jenkins).
- With Infrastructure as code tooling and automation (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc).
- Building and maintaining logging and monitoring tools (ELK, graylog, prometheus, PagerDuty).
- Development Experience (BASH, Ruby, Python or Golang).
- Knowledge of the Linux Operating System.
- A cool, methodical approach to troubleshooting and debugging problems, especially during stressful periods of downtime.
- Working and contributing to open source projects. Contributions beyond code are highly valued.
Nice if you have
- A strong working knowledge of Identity service technologies (OAuth, OpenID and SAML)
- Familiarity with DTA processes and the Digital Service Standard
For you to qualify
- Australian Citizen.
- Able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
- Amenable for a 6 month contract and 6 months extension.
- Can start employment on July 15 (estimate date).
- Can work full time in Canberra ACT or Surrey Hills NSW site. May consider full-time offsite candidates within Australia however, travel to Canberra or Sydney once every 2 months.
