Automation Test Developer (APS6 & EL1) - Melbourne

Description

Federal Government client is seeking Automation Test Developers (APS6 & EL1) who will be responsible for performing objective assessments of the software products to enable developers and managers to make appropriate corrective decisions.

The role assists with the implementation and definition of overall testing strategies. Automation Test Developers ensure that test activities are effectively planned, monitored, and completed in accordance with agreed test guidelines and business requireements. A key component of the role involves dealing with external software vendors as stakeholders.

Automation Test Developers exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision-making substantially dependent on their high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications, with work being performed under the general guidance of senior staff. In performing a leadership role, Automation Test Developers drive innovation, change in workplace practices and organise work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction

Key duties may include, but are not limited to:

Automation Test Developer – APS6

  • analysis, design and development of new capabilities within the automation framework.
  • solve highly complex problems and deliver high quality Automation solutions.
  • perform high-level analysis of technical requirements to support Automation evaluation with proposed solutions.
  • undertake technical design and development of highly complex custom solutions and/or standard conversion and migration solutions.
  • manage the deployment release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance of the Branch Automation changes.
  • proactively share knowledge and expertise as the Subject Matter Expert and provide assistance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.
  • ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies.
  • provide support to Test and Development teams to ensure high quality custom solution realization.
  • report on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance in the area of responsibility.
  • prepare and review a range of Automation written material which may include technical and corporate documentation.
  • provide detailed, specialist Automation technical advice to Senior Management where appropriate.
  • support Automation innovation and lead change.
  • encourage and support continuous improvement.

Senior Automation Test Developer – EL1
