Canberra Preferred. Office location is capital city of selected states. The expectation is in the office for first 6 weeks before a flexible working arrangement will be considered, usually a minimum of 3 days/week onsite. One or more Reduced Activity Periods (RAP) may be implemented. Candidates will not be required to undertake work for the Buyer during a RAP. The Buyer will not be liable to pay any charges during a RAP, except for days worked by candidates with prior written approval of the Buyer

The services required will enable the agency to supplement its existing ICT and digital workforce to ensure a high quality of technology and digital development for the Buyer with the flexibility to ramp resourcing up and down as needs require. Engaging a flexible ICT workforce will enable the Buyer to augment its requirements for the major work programs being undertaken.
Client is seeking Systems Analyst (APS6 level) to translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.
Systems Analyst Professionals design, create, evaluate and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems. They may propose modifications to the existing systems and processes, or design new systems to meet user needs as expressed in requirements documentations or user stories.
Senior Systems Analysts are responsible for translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. It includes designing, analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. They are responsible for writing functional specifications from the business requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities
Duties may include some or all of the following:
- Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements
- Create solution designs and implement solutions to meet business needs
- Create and maintain solution document
- Support daily operations and monitor performance of business solutions
- Adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement
- Perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility, resource effort, risks and benefits
- Conduct testing activities such as test planning, execution coverage reviews and defect management
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks, resolve issues, solve problems and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects
- Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design and testing documents
- Review research, process models and documentation of other staff, providing guidance and feedback
- Resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions
- Perform cost analysis activities as required
- Manage the life cycle of changes and improvements to systems
- Manage a team to increase performance and engagement through: coaching o capability development; performance management; health and well-being support
- Set priorities, manage resources, and assist with the development of work plans
- Exercise delegations in line with legislation and guidelines as required.

- Feasibility assessment: Level 4 (SFIA) Selects relevant feasibility assessment approaches and techniques. Identifies the range of possible options. Undertakes short-listing of options and feasibility assessment. Engages with internal and external stakeholders to get the information required for feasibility assessment. Supports preparation of business cases including cost/benefit, impact and risk analysis for each option.
- Requirements definition and management: Level 4 (SFIA) Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity. Contributes to selecting the requirements approach. Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements. Establishes requirements base-lines, obtains formal agreement to requirements, and ensures traceability to source.
- Software design: Level 4 (SFIA) Designs complex software applications, components and modules. Uses appropriate modelling techniques following agreed software design standards, guidelines, patterns and methodology. Creates and communicates multiple design views to balance stakeholders’ concerns and to satisfy functional and non-functional requirements. Identifies, evaluates and recommends alternative design options and trade-offs. Models, simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed software to enable approval by stakeholders, and effective construction of the software. Verifies software design by constructing and applying appropriate methods. Reviews, verifies and improves own designs against specifications. Leads reviews of others designs.
- Systems design: Level 4 (SFIA) Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns and methodology. Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and trade-offs. Creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders and to handle functional and non-functional requirements. Models, simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed system components to enable approval by stakeholders. Produces detailed design specifications to form the basis for the construction of systems. Reviews, verifies and improves own designs against specifications.
